Carol Ann Kleinen Johnson was born to Bill and Ruth Kleinen on October 3rd, 1943 in San Francisco. She passed away peacefully at home on January 19th, 2017. Carol was 73 years old and is survived by her husband David Johnson, sister Shirley Parsons, children Karen Johnson, Jennifer Prunty and Jeff Johnson and grandchildren Brian Newton and Steven Prunty, many nieces and nephew and her beloved dog Molly.

She grew up in Capay Valley, on her family's almond ranch in Rumsey, CA. She graduated from Esparto Union High School in 1961, and attended medical assistant college in San Francisco. In 1963 she married the love of her life, David William Johnson in the Guinda Methodist Church that was built by her father. They moved to Dixon in 1970 where they raised their family and created wonderfully strong roots in the community. In 1980 she opened Custom Cakes by Carol Johnson, and quickly became known for her personalized cakes and her carrot cake recipe. She retired August 1st, 1996. Years of volunteer work, community events, involvement with Rotary and much more, created cherished and lasting friendships. In 2013, she and Dave received the Dixon Citizens Of The Year award.

Carol was a loving mother and wife, with a spirited personality that would do anything for anyone. Her open heart and home created a wonderful space of unconditional love, filled with generosity, laughter and memories for all. She loved to give, laugh, and celebrate life with everyone around. She valued family, community, joy, and creating her home. In 2013 she created Carol’s Closet to help other survivors of breast cancer, with donated scarves, hats and inspiration.

Her family thanks everyone for their friendship, love and support. A Celebration Of Life will announced for a future date.
